Embedded Rust Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Rust Engineer to join a technically challenging project in Rotkreuz, Switzerland.

• Develop technical concepts and solutions and contribute to feasibility studies to meet functional and technical requirements.
• Take ownership of software development activities, including implementation, testing, reviews and documentation.
• Define, estimate and plan software work packages, ensuring effective and timely delivery.
• Create and maintain software specifications and designs, while contributing to the overall software architecture and quality standards.
• Collaborate with software, hardware and system engineering teams throughout development and integration.
• Perform root-cause analysis of complex issues and implement robust bug fixes, including for post-market software releases.
• Ensure compliance with established development processes, quality requirements and regulatory standards, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on engineering role at the intersection of Rust, real-time systems and physical hardware, working on software where performance, reliability and predictability are critical.

• 2+ years of professional Rust development experience, with a strong understanding of ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits and error handling
• Professional experience developing embedded or systems-level software
• Experience with real-time Linux (PREEMPT_RT) or a comparable RTOS
• Hands-on experience with CAN bus communication – essential
• Strong understanding of real-time concepts including latency, jitter and task scheduling
• Experience with asynchronous programming in Rust
• Solid Linux knowledge and familiarity with embedded build and debugging tools
• Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field
